My Story

Welcome! 

Hi, I'm Caroline -the owner and artist behind St Tropez Designs.  Though my career was previously in high tech in Silicon Valley, I have always enjoyed developing my creative side.  This has resulted in my passion for developing this custom furniture painting business.   

 

I have traveled, studied and lived abroad multiple times which has culturally given me a unique perspective for my broad furniture painting styles and designs.  

 

In 2015, my family and I moved to the South of France.  We followed a 12 year dream of giving our children an international education. We also wanted to slow the pace of life down after a frenetic life and career in Northern California.  

 

My time in France was when I discovered and developed my passion for furniture painting.  I found many inspiring teachers in a country where furniture is considered decorative art - elegant and opulent.  I felt like a kid in a candy store enjoying the rich variety of beautiful pieces and designs, each of which had their own story; pieces of history dating back many centuries.  

 

Arriving back in California, I was ready to share my unique experience by starting this business.  Every piece of furniture I work on is art to me; antique or modern. Furniture projects can be as simple as a single-color design through to the most detailed of art objects.
